I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Know who you are
I’ve done a lot of jobs in my time, but underneath it all I’ve always been a writer. Not a brilliant acclaimed literary author, just someone who loves and is passionate about writing. Not always even someone who was making money from it, or whose writing was seen by anyone else – but that didn’t matter. It’s just what I always wanted to do for as long as I can remember.
Of course some of the other jobs I’ve done have been great, and some have been miserable, tedious, unfulfilling. But even when I was doing a job I hated, I always knew that underneath it all I wasn’t really a clerk or an accounts manager or whatever it was. Deep down I was still a writer.
