Given how effectively they move, NXT
vehicles can competently perform a
multitude of tasks: transporting objects,
following a line, traversing a maze, and
so much more. Among the many potential
projects for this subcategory of robots,
one in particular is perhaps the classic
MINDSTORMS project: a vehicle that
explores a room and detects obstacles
with a bumper that is built around a
single touch sensor. In this chapter, you’ll
create Bumper-Bot (Figure 12-1) by
adding a bumper to Zippy-Bot and then
programming the robot to explore its
surroundings.
