It is quite common to see the application of TPS on the tools that made it famous, like Just In Time, the Kaizens and all other systems and methods that we described in the previous chapters. The truth is that TPS is a radical cultural shift, and no tools can be really effective without the involvement of people, who must be at the core of this approach.
TPS can actually express its full potential only if it involves the operators who work in production. The creation of a ‘friendly’ environment, where people can perform at their best, is a goal of many companies. In Toyota, the best expression of belonging to a workplace is to be willing to contribute to its growth.
