For any business with an investment in a particular areaâwhether thatâs a state, city, or neighborhoodâitâs important for people in that area feel as though that company is part of the communityâand that you, as the business owner or manager, do and feel the same things that they do and feel.
Weâve entered a time when consumers are demanding more transparency from the businesses and organizations with which they choose to interact. The rise of social media only contributes toâand encouragesâthe publicâs desire to meet the âman behind the curtain.â We want to spend our money with people who can be held accountable, and who care as much about preserving and improving our communities as we do.
This project is designed to help you build a connection with your audience by promoting your investment in the area and community in which you do business. This project should not be used to create the illusion that you care about your community. You donât want to put one over on your audience. So if you donât care, move on. But, Iâm sure you do care. Youâre a good person. I like you.
This project is inspired by the old television show and early-PC computer game, âWhere in the World is Carmen Sandiego?â And yes, they spelled it âSandiego.â The game was targeted to kids and showed photos of world landmarks. The kids then guessed the country or city in which Carmen was hiding out.
