I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating Cosmos DB
Let's start by creating Cosmos DB and storing the fortune cookie quotes:
- Log in to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com).
- Click on the + Create a resource button.
- Search for Azure Cosmos DB and click on the Create button.
- Use ID = henrydb, API = SQL, Resource Group = HenryResourceGroup, Location = East US.
The following screenshot shows the Azure Cosmos DB Create setting:

- Now go to henrydb in Cosmos DB. You can always search your resources by going to HenryResourceGroup, in case you cannot find the resource that you are looking for.
- In henrydb, click the Add Collection button.
- Use Database ...
