I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installing a new component on Microsoft Node.js
The new modified code uses a Cosmos DB Node.js component called documentdb. The Node.js server that you previously created does not have a documentdb component. In this section, you will learn how to install a custom component on the server:
- Go to the Azure portal and then navigate to henryApp1234, the Node.js server that you created.
- On the menu of henryApp1234, click on Console.
- In the Console, type npm install documentdb -g. This will install the missing component, allowing your code to run properly.
The following screenshot shows the Microsoft App Service Node.js server Console where you can execute npm commands to install missing components:
