No books have been written specifically on NHibernate, but NHibernate benefits from its close association with Hibernate, about which a number of good books have been written. One good resource is:
Pro Hibernate 3, by Dave Minter and Jeff Linwood (Apress)
This work doesn’t cover the latest major release of Hibernate, but it’s still highly respected despite its age:
Hibernate: A Developer’s Notebook, by James Elliott (O’Reilly)
One of the best books available on general O/RM principles is often cited at the Hibernate site, which isn’t surprising since it’s authored by one of Hibernate’s creators:
Hibernate in Action, by Christian Bauer and Gavin King (Manning)
A number of good resources for O/RM and NHibernate are also available on the Web:
Billy McCafferty has a detailed article discussing NHibernate’s use with ASP.NET, generics, and unit testing at the Code Project site: http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/NHibernateBestPractices.asp.
Ben Day has given a number of presentations on NHibernate and blogs about it regularly: http://blog.benday.com.
Frans Bouma often writes on O/RM topics: http://weblogs.asp.net/fbouma/default.aspx.
Scott Bellware also frequently writes about O/RM and NHibernate: http://codebetter.com/blogs/scott.bellware/.
