I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In the last three chapters we explored the different ways in which industrial activity has in the past and will in the future be affected by globalisation and technological developments. In these contexts we have discussed industrial restructuring and increasing competitive intensity, both of which have profound implications for the worlds of work, employment and people management. In this chapter we are going to continue with these themes by discussing economic processes. We will start with an overview of the way that markets for goods and services operate, going on to explore free market economics and government policy in the economic arena.
