Stereopsis
Chapter 10 described and explained the concept of stereopsis, its significance
and its theoretical basis. In this chapter, we will look at how to implement a
few must have stereoscopic application programs.
Approaching the problem from the software side, there are two initial
considerations:
1. How are the stereoscopic sources formatted?
2. What are the requirements for driving the stereoscopic display hard-
ware?
Before looking at the format of stereoscopic sources, we will consider how
to drive the display hardware. Section 16.1 explains how projection display
devices are driven by a suitable graphics adapter. To program the stereo-ready
