For better or worse, there’s a lot of room for improvement where corporate FOSS strategy is concerned—any corporate strategy, really, but FOSS strategy in particular. In my experience, most corporate approaches to free and open source software is, at best, purely tactical and reactionary. FOSS rarely plays a decisive role in overall corporate strategy, which is unfortunate, considering the oversized role it plays in the success of business operations for most organizations.
