I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Ensure Policies and Procedures Are in Place
At this point in your planning you’re probably eager to get the contributing party started, but I encourage you to pause for a moment. Now that you know what you’re going to do, you’re ready to make sure people know how to do it.
Take some time to review policies and procedures (P&P) to verify that they’ll support your plan. Can people read the P&P to learn the process of contributing and answer the most common questions? If the answer isn’t there, is there a way for them to get their questions answered?
If you invest some effort in verifying P&P up front, before you launch your outbound contribution initiatives, you’ll likely discover and remove possible roadblocks even before you start your journey. ...
