According to legend, the god of love, Eros, was ordered by his mother Aphrodite to punish the beautiful Psyche by making her fall in love with an ugly mortal.1 Instead, Eros fell in love with her. Eros became Psyche’s lover, though she was unaware of his divine nature as he came to her only in the dark.
