When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Facilitation: PowerPoint or Whiteboard?
Let us discuss logistics for a minute. I like to use a whiteboard for framing. There are whiteboards that will print, or you can simply take a digital photo of what you’ve developed. Markers come in good bright colors. With a small group, you can all stand around the whiteboard and work together.
Many people prefer to use PowerPoint and project onto a screen, editing online as the meeting progresses. This can work well, but be aware that (1) a dark room with a bright light can put people to sleep, and (2) wordsmithing PowerPoint slides can be really painful and boring for the group, especially if the person typing (the scribe) doesn’t listen well or is a slow typist.
