INTRODUCTION

Leading a business area such as a BA Service is similar to running a small business and, as a result, many of the same issues need to be considered. BA leaders have extensive responsibilities ranging across areas such as promoting business analysis work, developing business analysts and, particularly given the issues discussed in Chapter 1 concerning recognition and authority, clarifying the service offering.
