From these two extremes, we can see that there are many ways to split the

portlet application. We recommend deriving the portlet structure from the

business processes and functional requirements. That way, you can take

advantage of WebSphere Portal’s ability to assign individual access rights to

portal resources.

“Alternative portlets for document management” on page 461. Table 2-1 provides

a brief overview.
