This article is intended to firstly give a brief description of
biosensing and immunosensing, followed by an overview of the
technique of AC impedance, and then a detailed discussion of how
AC impedance has been applied in the transduction step in the
development of electrochemical immunosensors. Details of recent
advances such as the incorporation of nanotechnology into these
devices are also described. There will then follow a brief section on
immunosensing electrode arrays and then a conclusion discussing
future trends.
