We have within this chapter attempted to review the principles
of impedance immunosensing and given an overview of the most
recent work in this field. Immunosensing is based on the exquisite
specificity of antibodies for their antigens. This specificity combined
with the high sensitivity of AC impedance methods has allowed
selective determination of many antigens at picograms per milliliter
