PREFACE

 

The oil price booms of the nineteen-seventies served as the catalysts to change within many progressive industrial scenarios. The maritime industry is one such scenario.

Over the last two decades significant technological development has resulted from increased knowledge, understanding, and application of the discipline of engineering electronics.
