Ships may select the satellite which covers the Ocean Region in which they are sailing by manually typing instructions for antenna alignment onto the keyboard, or by selecting AUTO TRACK for the antenna to automatically self-align.

Telex Services may be accessed by selecting Telex, then appropriate CES. International country dialling codes are available in the INMARSAT Users Handbook. Some CESs provide a Telex Group Call Service by which a message can be transmitted shore to ship to a group of ships eg ships of the same registry, or ships of the same fleet.
