I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
If you decide to use a five-pin plastic header, you should connect the wires to the female end at
this time. If you’re using a header, tape the wires together after fitting them or encase them in heat-
shrink tubing. Figure 9.14 shows a 5-pin connection attached to the wires.
With all of the internal wiring completed, it’s time to build the external interface board.The
schematic is shown in Figure 9.15. On the DB9 connector of the PC serial cable, PC_RXD will
connect to pin 2, PC_TXD will connect to pin 3, and GND will connect to pin 5.
