It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The framework for running a high-tech crime investigation is very similar to the one needed to investigate traditional crimes. While knowledge of how high technology can be exploited is very important, understanding the methods of investigating these cases is even more useful.
Curiously, it is easier to train traditional crime investigators how to examine high-tech crimes than it is to teach system administrators how to handle the intricacies of an investigation.
