In this section, we discuss three types of certificates used by Application Monitor.
Certificate usage
There are three X.509 certificates generated and self-signed by Application Monitor:
A certificate used by Managing Server components communicating with Data Collectors.
A certificate used by Managing Server components (other than the kernel) communicating
with the kernel.
A certificate used by Data Collectors communicating with the kernel.
Among the many attributes that come with a X.509 certificate, the ones we discuss in this
section are the important attributes of interest.
