We used the following naming conventions for our WebSphere Application Server for z/OS
Data Collector files:
/usr/lpp/cyanea/wsam/jdsr04a/etc
/usr/lpp/cyanea/wsam/jdsr04a/lib
/usr/lpp/cyanea/wsam/jdsr04a/logs
Here, jdsr04a is one of our server names (see 8.2.4, “Plan your Application Monitor naming
convention” on page 173).
Consider write performance when you place your /etc and /logs directories if you are sharing
your HFS. Use symbolic links to direct to an HFS on the LPAR where your Data Collector
resides so that you do not have the performance penalty of routing each write to the owning
