5.1 Managing Server installation overview
The Managing Server (MS) consists of several Java components and also relies on an
application server and a database, which must be installed prior to installing the Managing
Server itself.
You can choose among several supported operating system platforms on which to install the
Managing Server. Likewise, you can choose among two application servers and versions and
two databases and versions. The Managing Server is designed for scalability and
load-balancing, and there are many ways to architect an installation across one or more
