10.1. WML and XHTML Markup Languages

Our task in this chapter will be to examine the process for taking our XML Standings output and transforming it into both WML and XHTML formats. The solution will not be fully developed, leaving some of the interesting parts as an exercise for you. But the full framework and methodology for accomplishing this will be presented.

Before getting into specifics of the code, I want to talk briefly about the development process. If you were writing a program to produce as output a tabular report, you'd probably make at least some effort to sketch out the output by hand before starting to code.
