I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
Go through the following steps to integrate Jira with an LDAP server:
- Navigate to Administration > User management > User Directories.
- Click on the Add Directory button and select either Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP for non-AD directories.
- Enter the LDAP server, schema, and permission settings. Refer to the following table for more details.
- Click on the Quick Test button to validate Jira's connectivity to LDAP.
- Click on the Save and Test button if there are no issues with connecting to LDAP.
- Type in a username and password to run a quick test. While doing this, make sure that Jira is able to connect to LDAP, to find the user and retrieve the user's group information, and to authenticate against LDAP.
