It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
Once you have integrated two Jira instances with each other using an application link, you will be able to search for and link issues from the remote Jira instance to issues in the local Jira instance. Look at the following screenshot:
As you can see, when you use the link feature, Jira will prompt you to select the Jira instance that you want to search for issues to link with.
