I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
Go through the following steps to integrate Jira with an LDAP server exclusively for authentication:
- Navigate to Administration > User management > User Directories.
- Click on the Add Directory button and select the Internal with LDAP Authentication option.
- Enter the LDAP server and schema settings. Most of the parameters are identical to those you use when creating a normal LDAP connection, with a few exceptions. Refer to the following table for details.
- Click on the Quick Test button to validate Jira connectivity to LDAP.
- Click on the Save and Test button if there are no issues connecting to LDAP.
The following table lists configuration parameters that are specific for the Internal with LDAP Authentication option:
