It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Take a piece of paper larger than this page and put on it a pattern of nine dots, like this:
Now connect up the dots by four straight consecutive lines (that is, without taking your pen or pencil off the paper). You should be able to complete the task within two minutes.
