Managing SharePoint Business
Intelligence
In the previous lessons of this section of the book, you learned how each Business Intelligence
tool built into SharePoint is configured and then used to provide solutions to your end users.
In this lesson, you will walk through some of the management tools available to monitor your
Business Intelligence solutions.
The SharePoint 2010 Central Administration site is where these management tools are avail-
able. If you go to the Central Administration site and select General Application Settings,
you will find two sections for managing Business Intelligence, shown in Figure 40-1. Notice
that although there is a Reporting Services section here it does not help with managing day-
to-day usage. The purpose of this section, which was discussed in Lesson 36, is to configure
Reporting Services integration with SharePoint. The section that you should focus on from a
management perspective is the PowerPivot section.
