It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Synopsis
sysctl [options] [key]System administration command. Examine or modify kernel parameters at runtime using the /proc/sys filesystem. While many of these kernel keys can be altered by other utilities, sysctl provides a single interface to kernel settings.
Options
- -a, -A
Display all available values.
- -e
Ignore requests for unknown keys.
- -n
Do not print the keyname when printing values.
- -p
Reset keys from information specified in /etc/sysctl.conf.
- -w key = value
Write a new value to the specified key.
