Introduction
Next-generation networking (NGN) describes key architectural evo-
lutions in telecommunication core and access networks that will be
developed over the next years. e general idea behind NGN is one
single network for all information and services (voice, data, and all
types of media, such as video).
e required shift toward standards-based architectures allowing
service providers to create multipurpose platforms that share a com-
mon infrastructure is called IP transformation. It ensures technological
