Declaring state variables

The state variables defined in contract are values that are permanently stored in contract storage over the Ethereum blockchain. The variables defined outside of the method/function body are accessible to the whole contract. Based on the visibility defined for the variable, it may or may not be further accessible from other inherited contracts.

Defining a storeUint variable of the uint type is done as shown in the following code:

contract VariableStorage {    uint storeUint; //uint256 storage variable    //...}

The storeUint variable in the preceding code block will be accessible from any function/modifier defined in the VariableStorage contract.
