Importing other source files

Solidity supports an import statement to import other source files. The following is the syntax for importing:

import "path/to/file/filename.sol";

In the preceding example, the absolute path of the file should be specified. This absolute path of a contract must be inside the project's contracts folder. The contracts folder will contain all Solidity contracts in a Truffle project. You can refer Chapter 5, Using Ganache and the Truffle Framework.

One important point to note here is that the import statements are for your development environment only. For example, the Truffle framework does understand the packaging of the contracts and import statements that makes it easy to maintain and work on multiple .sol files. ...
