Installing the solhint linter

You can install the solhint linter globally on your machine using the following npm command. After the installation, you can execute the solhint command in any folder on your machine:

$ npm install -g solhint

Once it is installed, you can verify that the installation was successfully done by querying the version of the solhint command installed:

$ solhint -V

The preceding command will return the currently installed version of solhint. Once you see the version of solhint displayed on your shell or command window, you are good to go and you can use the solhint command for your truffle or Solidity contract files.
