When you have a token that needs to have a mintable feature—so that you are allowed to mint new tokens according to your needs—you can use the ERC20Mintable.sol contract. This contract requires MinterRole which is given to the deployer of the contract. An account that has MinterRole can call the mint() function and mints new tokens to the specified address.
The OpenZeppelin contract present at Chapter09/openzeppelin-solidity/contracts/token/ERC20/ERC20Mintable.sol is defined as follows:
import "./ERC20.sol";import "../../access/roles/MinterRole.sol";contract ERC20Mintable is ERC20, MinterRole { function mint(address to, uint256 value) public onlyMinter returns (bool) { _mint(to, value); return ...
