Part VI. Ad hoc reporting

Another aspect of report access is ad hoc reporting, which is a more creative and interactive process than simply viewing reports. In Chapter 29, you learn how to create and deploy a library of report parts that users can search, select, and modify for personalized reporting in Report Builder without the need to know how to create queries or develop report items. Another type of ad hoc reporting is available only on a SharePoint integrated-mode report server by using Power View. Before you can start creating reports with this new tool, you must have a tabular model available and modify it to better support specific features in Power View, which you learn how to do in Chapter 30.
