Do you negotiate? Of course you do, much more than you may recognize. Many of your daily interactions with others are, in essence, negotiations. I have found that often up to 80 percent of what you believe is communication between two or more individuals, in reality is a negotiation. You talk to a colleague about who should write the report, discuss with your spouse where to go on vacation, or have a dialogue with your kids about whether they should get a dog. At work, you might close a big business deal, sell a customer on a product they were on the fence about, negotiate time off with your boss, or even go back and forth with a potential client on where to meet for a business lunch.
