MANAGING PROJECTS FORBUSINESS INNOVATION

IN THE EARLY 2000s, after twenty-five years in the computer business, Apple Computer decided to take advantage of a new trend: young people downloading music from the Internet.1 Using its experience in designing exciting products and integrating them with easy-to-run software, the company made a strategic decision to launch several innovative projects, such as the iPod personal music player, iTunes software, and iTunes Music Store.
