I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
When to charge for licensing usage.
Q: WHEN SHOULD YOU CHARGE FOR LICENSING OR “USAGE”?
A: Usage. Let’s put it in simple terms so I can understand what I’m talking about:
You get hired to shoot a job for a client. They want to use the images. You can spell out how they can use the images. Where they can use the images. How long they can use the images. You are licensing rights for them to do this. You negotiate all of this and how much it will cost at the beginning of the bidding process.
It’s a lot like renting a car. The car rental company says how long you can use the car. How far you can drive. Who else is allowed to use the car. You can rent a car for one hour to drive 15 miles. You can also rent a car in New York City and drop it off in ...
