When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Cards & Battery system.
Q: HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH YOUR MEMORY CARDS AND BATTERIES ON A SHOOT? I’M ALWAYS GETTING CONFUSED BETWEEN WHAT I’VE USED AND HAVEN’T USED. I NEED A SYSTEM.
A: Good question. I had that problem for a while when I was getting started. I have a system down now that I stick to at all times.
For memory cards, I keep them in a Think Tank Photo Pixel Pocket Rocket. Before going on the job I check all my cards and format them in camera. When I walk on a job, I want all cards clear and clean. I will not format these cards again until they have been downloaded and backed up to at least two different hard drives. Empty cards go into the cardholder with the brand label facing up. When I have shot them, I put them back in with the brand ...
