User Agent Marshal Server

The User Agent Marshal server is the primary point of contact for all User Agents, such as SIP phones. The User Agent Marshal server is a SIP proxy server that authenticates UAs and forwards messages on their behalf. See Chapters 1 and 7 for more information.

Table 6-7 shows the provisioning tasks that can be performed with the User Agent Marshal server.

User Agent Marshal server groups are the second sublevel below marshalServers and serverType User Agent on the directory tree.

Adding a User Agent Marshal server

Depending on the subscriber base size, a system may include several Marshal servers in the same server group or dispersed over several groups.

Editing a User Agent Marshal server

Select a server, edit the fields, and then click OK. Table 6-8 describes the fields.

Adding additional User Agent Marshal servers

Systems that can process up to 50 calls per second do not require more than two User Agent Marshal servers. Additional servers can be added as the system grows in size or if greater reliability is desired. Follow the earlier instructions in "Adding New Servers.”

Deleting User Agent Marshal servers

Select a server and click Delete.
