of requests for new light bulb installations and sends out electricians to

install the bulbs.

The conduit leads further to a power station with a dynamo machine that

generates the electric power for the lights. The dynamo machine is attached

to a steam engine that noisily rotates its wheel, spewing black coal smoke

into the air. A team of men shovel coal into the steam engine. Earlier that day,

another team unloaded the coal from a train that came in via the railroad,

delivering coal at regular intervals in order to drive the power station.
