I’ve been looking at the Google logo on the iPhone and I’m not happy with the
icon. The second O in Google doesn’t have the right yellow gradient. It’s just
wrong and I’m going to have Greg x it tomorrow. Is that okay with you? [102]
Note that this is the level of scrutiny Steve Jobs applied to an app provided
by Google, a business partner involved in the iPhone launch. The spaghetti
sauce equivalent of this would be xing the shade of the color of the product
label on a bottle sitting on a store shelf among dozens of other bottles. It is
highly unlikely that consumers evaluating the taste of a new sauce would be
so critical. It is even less likely that they would be able to identify key suc-
cess factors behind the iPhone ...
