Vipul’s Razor
Vipul’s Razor is a system for identifying and filtering spam emails in a distributed fashion. (We will refer to Vipul’s Razor throughout this book as both Razor and VR.) It consists of a set of Razor servers that hold a database of known spam emails. Razor was initially designed to be run from the command line, but it has been extended to work with SpamAssassin.
In standalone mode, the user’s email client is configured to submit incoming emails to a Razor client that queries a Razor server to determine if it is a known spam email and delivers it accordingly.
