CSS Basics

So, now, let's take a look at some of the basics of CSS. First, Cascading Stylesheets are cascading. That means that you can actually build hierarchies of stylesheets, by importing one stylesheet into another. When you do this, the rules from the sheets are combined, and you can use this to build complex stylesheets from a series of simple stylesheets.

For our purposes of discussion, we will not do much with cascading. In this chapter, we will work with a one-stylesheet-to-one-XML-document model.
