Background and Color Properties

The background and color properties allow you to manipulate the quality of the background in areas and regions, and the color of an area. These properties include

  • background-color— The backgr ound-color property is used to specify a color to be used as the background for an area. The area could be a region, or a block object, or any number of table objects.

  • background-image— This property can be used to specify an image to be used as an object background. It accepts a URI (absolute or relative) as the value for the attribute.

  • background-repeat— This property can be used to repeat a graphic image as a background, to achieve texture effects.
