XHTML Basic
The proliferation of new wireless technologies, PDAs, and other portable computing devices have led to people accessing the Web from just about anywhere. However, anyone who has used these technologies will notice a difference between surfing the Web on a top-of-the-line desktop versus a cellular phone.
In order to accommodate some of the devices that might want to display a subset of HTML, the basic essential elements, there is an appropriate language: XHTML Basic.
What Is XHTML Basic?
XHTML Basic is a simplified form of XHTML that represents basic HTML-style functionality. XHTML Basic is intended for use on small devices, such as PDAs or cell phones, with limited displays, processing power, and interaction ability.
