In Chapter 7 we saw how XML could be displayed in browsers with Cascading Stylesheets. Although that is certainly a viable method for display, CSS was not designed to work with XML, and it does have some limitations.

We have seen how to work with CSS, and have been introduced to the concepts of working with XSL. Now we can move on to look more closely at the practical aspects of working with XSL.

The next step is to take a look at XSL Transformations and see how we can use XSLT to take XML and convert it into other formats, such as HTML, or how we can take an XML document with one set of tags and convert it into another XML document. The power to transform XML is one of the most powerful applications of XSL.
