Rebuilding a Personal Relationship After an Irrational Person Breaks It

Sometimes irrational people will momentarily upset or annoy you. When this happens, it’s pretty easy for you to get past it.

Sometimes, however, these people wound you deeply. And that’s especially true when they’re the people closest to you: your parents, children, or life partners. In this case, you can wind up broken. Something that was whole within you—your trust, your self-esteem, your reputation, your spirit—has been damaged by the person’s actions. As a result, you may be consumed by anger. And I understand that, totally. I’ve been there myself.
